AWARD WINNING PRODUCER/WRITER/DIRECTOR: SYLVIA BINSFELD

Sylvia started her career as a fine artist, attending the Academy of Art in San Francisco, but became interested in acting, after auditioning for a play as a fluke with a friend and getting the lead. Shortly after starting to audition for commercials, she joined the Screen Actor's Guild.

Her transition to working behind the camera came after she was cast as co-host in a short-lived, offbeat TV show shot in Northern California, called "LiveWire". The producer/director gave the hosts quite a bit of creative control and Sylvia was hooked. Frustrated with the scripts she was reading, she started writing her own scripts. Sylvia had a well of ideas she wanted to bring to the world. She felt liberated in the directors seat. One of the first projects she produced and hosted was a nationally sold instructional video called, "Your Child can be in TV Commercials: A step-by-step Guide." Which received rave reviews in Billboard Magazine and the Video Librarian, because it had the child's best interest at heart, discouraging a parent from pushing a child into
the business.

Sylvia won the first place Telly Award for her commercial, Fall'n Angels, but soon decided to focus strictly on producing her own films. She wants to do films that touch and amaze the viewer by their sheer beauty and encourage them to think, connect and transform. She has the desire to make a difference, and is currently on a series of short fantasy films that take place in the mystical, magical, inner dream world. The films come with an accompanying book. Though the book/DVD sets are sold in the children's department, they have a strong adult fan base, because they have a spiritual essence and help recall a feeling many of us have long forgotten They bring out that magic and innocent wonder of our inner child.
